In 1968, the first Biology H.S. Department opened under the guidance of Sri Samaresh Singha. Later in 1934, Pass course started in Zoology with 30 seats under the guidance of Dr. Sabyasachi Majumder. In 1995, Dr. Bholanath Chattopadhyay took the initiative for introducing Honours course in the Department. In 2018, the Department was crowned with another achievement for hosting Post Graduate Course and Dr. Pokhraj Guha took the charge of the Co-ordinator of the course. This was possible due to the tireless effort of the present Principal of the college Dr. Hariprasad Sarkar, who is also a renowned teacher in Zoology and always dreams to take the Department to the Zenith of fame. At present, the Department is running Honours and Pass Under-Graduate courses along with Post-Graduate Courses in Zoology.
